About
Tui in the Hand is a 22.5 foot (6.86m) bilge keeled Variant designed by Alan Wright. She was launched in 1977 and was built from fibreglass by Sandglass Productions. Ben Dickson and Sam Holford were the joint owners of Tui in the Hand from 2007 to 2009 and moored her outside the Devonport Yacht Club, Auckland, New Zealand.
Ben and Sam purchased her on February 3rd 2007 from Willy Burgess who had owned her for a only a week. Nick Holford owned Tui in the Hand from February 2004 and sold her to Willy as he no longer used it. Willy took on the responsibility but figured he would not sail her much either, so she was passed on to us.
Moored in Putiki Bay, Waiheke Island from 1987 to 2004, Tui in the Hand then lived in Otakawhe Bay until February 2007 when Ben and Sam sailed her to her new home in Devonport.
